SCLS Foundation Board Meeting Minutes

Call to order: Janet Pugh, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m.

Changes to the Agenda and Requests to address the Board:† None

 

Approval of 7/28/2016 minutes:† P. Hamon moved approval of the July 28, 2016 minutes.† P. Kaland seconded. †Motion carried.

Financial:†††††††††††††††††††††††††††

Approval of SCLS payments of Foundation bills:

Invoices:† $4,039.90 for July/Aug/Sept. Admin fees.† P. Behling moved approval of the bills for payment.† M. Van Pelt seconded.† Motion carried.

 

Poynette Library indicated their decision to join the Foundation after a presentation by M. Van Pelt.
Columbus Public Library will be withdrawing cash for the purchase of property adjacent to the library parking lot.

The Foundation received a thank you note from the attendees of the recent fundraising workshop the Foundation sponsored.

Action Item

Vote to confirm Suzann Holland, Director of the Monroe Public Library as a new board member.† She will replace Cindy Fesemyer as the membersí representative.

P. Kaland moved approval.† M. Van Pelt seconded.† Motion carried.

Other Business

Project update:

Follow up discussion of fee structure charged to members for administrative costs:

Because Kerrie Goeden & Cindy Fesemyer were not able to attend this meeting, P. Kaland moved to table the discussion until the January meeting.† P. Behling seconded.† Motion carried.

 

The board discussed nominations for the 2017 board officers.

Cornerstone Award: Cambridge Winery 5-7, November 17th

Winners of 3 Library awards:

Giddy Up Partner:† Baraboo Public Library††††††††††††

Program Wizard:† Verona Public Library

Super Awesome:† Rio Community Library

There was a great deal of discussion about acknowledging the libraries at the Cornerstone that submitted applications because of their outstanding programs and community collaboration.†

There was also discussion of creating a fourth award for future Cornerstones recognizing long term continuing community building/strengthening.
